Jessica is the Site Manager and Lead Personal Trainer at 1350 I Fitness in NW DC
Jessica found her love for fitness her freshman year of high school. She joined the school’s volleyball team after doing dance for a few years in elementary school and was immediately hooked to the feeling of being active, having control over her body, and working up a great sweat.
Her interest in strength and conditioning didn’t spark until she started playing volleyball at Salisbury University, where an exercise program was specifically designed for her as a collegiate athlete. It was exciting to get stronger and faster through hard work in the weight room. Her junior year she decided to change her major and put all her focus into strength and conditioning. She volunteered for Salisbury’s strength and conditioning program that year and later did a 5-month internship in a physical therapy office. Early her senior year she earned her CSCS through the NSCA.
After graduating she combined what she learned from training athletes, the injured, and the aged to train a wide variety of the general population. After just two months as a personal trainer at Sport&Health, she took on the Assistant Fitness Director position, where she focused her attention on new members and setting them up for success in their fitness journey.
After a year as the Assistant Fitness Director at Sport&Health, she accepted the position as a Site Coordinator with Synergy Fitness Group. Working with Synergy she has substantially widened her knowledge in group class design, teaching techniques, and functional training modalities. She earned her Spinning certification and has taken two qualified TRX training courses soon after starting with Synergy.
